Up to now, we've been calling it "consequence culture" which is a fine term as far as it goes. It's a bit disappointing because it displays the typical US Conservative tendency to underplay.
We like to take a deferential stance with our foes on the other side of the political aisle. We tend to give them the benefit of a doubt even when they openly express a heartfelt desire to hunt us down in the streets and gleefully celebrate public assassinations when the bullet finally hits the mark.
And what's worse, some on the Right are now falling into the same rhetorical trap of using the Left's own terms to explain the current spate of firings for celebrating the use of execution as a tool of debate.
This has to stop.

Conservatives are not engaging in "cancel culture" anymore than we're converting to veganism for visiting the salad bar at a Sizzler.
It seems insane that I have to give a refresher course on what we're talking about when we mention cancel culture. But from the examples I've looked at, cancel culture has been a thing for nearly a quarter century now. This means that there are people who are full grown adults today who've never experienced what life was like before Leftist commissars infiltrated every aspect of public and private life.
Note the case of Alan Harrelson who was not only fired from his college position for the crime of merely not attending an Obama rally, he was dragged through the local media which dedicated articles framing him as a racist.
This wasn't in the heady days of the 2016 election when everyone started noticing the Left's double standard on speech and the free flow of ideas. That happened in 2008. And Harrelson wasn't working in some Left coast commune like Berkeley or ivy league madrasa like Harvard. He was working in the deep south in the Mississippi university system.
Moreover, Harrelson wasn't canceled for what he said or did, but for what he did not do.
In my own life, I was canceled in 2017 from my intel job at the corporate law office of HaynesBoone. My crime? Quietly and privately advocating the firm stick to merit-based hiring practices instead of adopting a DEI regime.
Mind you, I wasn't playing activist. I wasn't raising a stink about it and was fine letting the firm make their own decisions as far as hiring goes. I was a lowly analyst anyway and had no say to how the firm managed itself.
And yet, I lost my job. Canceled.
That was only the first time I was canceled, because as you know, I'm a J6er whose home was raided on Bastille Day in 2021. That time, I not only lost my job, but also my career. As did all the other 1,500-plus victims of the Biden wave of autopen authoritarian terror.
But here's where we get to the part about cancel culture that relates to Charlie Kirk. As many of you know, our treatment, the prosecutions, and the trials in DC were anything but fair. This despite the fact that January 6 lasted only a few hours and peacefully dispersed in time for curfew after four of us were killed in cold blood by the police that day.
The media made sure to frame us as murdering insurrectionists who respected neither law, democracy, nor life. This did all the heavy lifting for the DoJ which they eagerly leveraged into arguing before a hostile captured judicial elite to append terrorism enhancements to people charged with the crime of entering an unlocked building.
This is exactly what happened to Matt Perna who was lied about, then coerced into taking a plea deal, before the prosecution moved to ensure this man who never hurt a human being in his life, even on January 6, would be marked for the rest of his days as a violent terrorist.
So he hung himself.
Canceled.
In all, there've been about 6 J6ers who've taken their own lives, but the most recent one is extremely sad because he took his life after getting his presidential pardon. Matt Webler, ended his own life because his J6 ordeal left him with no wife, no child, and no home to go back to.
And of course we have Charlie Kirk -- a man who was viciously lied about by politicians, the mainstream media, and the internet for years until one psycho took to a rooftop because he was tired of the "hate."
Canceled.
Look, cancel culture isn't just about firing people, although that was the application from its inception. Cancel culture is about doing as much harm as possible to a person for the crime of not having the same opinion as a Reddit mod. If it ends with you losing a job? Good. If it ends up in your death? Then so much the better.
When you look at the role the media has played in all these cases, they clearly aren't passive players or dispassionate onlookers. They're aiding and abetting the people who pick up their lies and run them until we're jobless, in prison, or in the ground.
What I'm saying is: When the media lies to or about you, it's because they're reserving the right to end you.
One need only look at the reaction to the cancellation of Jimmy Kimmel to see that. Here, we have for the first time in maybe two-plus decades Leftists crying about the erosion of free speech. Conveniently, this selective outrage is reserved solely for one of their own tribe.
They're trying to pass off the explanation that Kimmel got canceled for "criticizing Trump." Absolute lie. Kimmel didn't get his show canceled for criticizing anyone. He got his ass booted off the air for lying about the shooter's motivation. He tried to frame the man who murdered a Conservative activist in the middle of public debate on Conservatism by someone who exactly echoed the media's lies about Kirk when he confessed his disapproval of Kirk's so-called hateful views.
He presented this lie despite the fact that numerous official findings, interviews with the shooter's friends and family, and the shooter's own words have been released demonstrating beyond a shadow of a doubt he was motivated by Leftist dogma.
Kimmel had no right to lie about that key detail on the airwaves. And there is no way on Earth that he was oblivious to these facts. The facts were inconvenient so he exercised the media's unique power to try to nuke them from existence.
Kimmel was covering up a crime.
That's already an enormous ethical violation as it is. Yet in this discussion about the shooter's motive, shouldn't we also be asking ourselves what Kimmel's motive was? It's a key detail!
Kimmel wasn't playing trickster any more than he was playing a funny man. He wasn't deceiving for the sake of deception or lying for its own pleasure. He was actively engaging in this deception for a specific reason.
What could that be?
Well, the obvious answer is that Jimmy Kimmel was deflecting blame regarding the shooter's motivation. That's really important because the shooter was radicalized by ... Jimmy Kimmel. He and the rest of the Leftist media elite.
Just so we're clear here, Kimmel was not just trying to defer blame for the killer's motive but also for the role he personally played in radicalizing him.
In other words, Kimmel was (and still is) protecting his and the media's role as a radicalizing force in American society.
Why?
So there can be more Charlie Kirks.
It's not just Kimmel who's doing this. The establishment media are furiously trying to dismiss their culpability in this crime. That they're doing it through yet more bald-faced lies tells us that they have no intention of giving up habits that cost an innocent man his life.
They want more Charlie Kirks. This level of clinical cold-bloodedness is something I experienced first hand. And now all of America knows what it's like. Perhaps more than even the assassination itself, the reaction by the media serves as a stark warning:
When the media lies to or about you, it's because they're reserving the right to end you.
Kimmel and his defenders are trying to protect their hysteria generators in order to keep the blood flowing.
And there are people on the Right who still think this is a situation which can be resolved by politely asking them to stop?
We've been doing this for nigh well a generation now, and even now after being caught red-handed aiding and abetting murder, they clearly aren't on board with just speaking the truth.
So don't call this "cancel culture." I get that it's fun to sort of gloat about the tables being turned. It feels good to watch the Left try to process the cognitive dissonance. But we're falling into a rhetorical trap.
We have a term for we are doing now. It's a well-defined term with a prestigious legal pedigree. It's called "self defense."
To express an iota of reservation at this point isn't just returning the knife to the hand of a suspected killer. It's returning the knife to a blood-soaked Jason Vorhees standing atop a lifeless pile of coeds.
Don't pretend to be the introspective one who's rationally considering the broader implications of what this all means. After multiple decades of escalating stakes in the Left's cancellation paradigm it's clear they have no intention of stopping. And that's even more clear now that we've seen their attempts to keep lying us to death immediately after a successful assassination.
At this point, it's not smart or introspective to feign concern. It's suicidal.
Put it this way: Do you want one of these ghouls who danced on the grave of an innocent man giving you your next injection or doing your next surgery at the hospital? Do you want them indoctrinating your children into their radical ideology at school? Do you want them holding power over you in the military or government bureaucracy? Or how about flying your plane on your next visit to grandma?
The answer to all these questions after Charlie is a resolute "No!"
This isn't the place for debate. The Left knows they lost the debate. That declaration of defeat was announced the moment they killed Charlie. Actually, they made that announcement the moment they tried to kill Trump a year ago.
In the aftermath of that heinous crime, we still tried to play the rational side and attempted to talk down the Left. But they weren't listening to us.
They were reloading.
It is our duty to protect our lives and the lives of family, friends, and fellow Conservatives everywhere by doing everything we can to shun these demons from society for good.
The only sad thing about it is the sheer number of demented psychos there are on the Left that need this shunning. But that really is our damn fault. Every year that goes by where they refuse to enter debate and use violence as a bargaining tool in public discourse is another batch of unthinking indoctrinated acolytes they unleash on society.
We let it get this bad because for a generation we refused to do what we are now doing: completely discrediting Leftism and the deviant psychos who gravitate to the party. Now, we find ourselves encircled by grinning madmen who are only waiting for the right opportunity to kill us or our children.
This act of collective self defense is the corrective we've long resisted using. Like most instances of deferred discipline the reason for inaction thus far has been sloth and lack of proper concern for the damage we were causing to ourselves.
And the wages of that sin were indeed death.
And it will continue to be.
Unless we calmly, resolutely, and rationally do what we should've been doing since 2008 and act in self defense.

You are spot on. The legacy media (undoubtedly under the thumb of the deep state) has brainwashed a generation of Americans. They've been nothing more than the mouthpiece of the DNC for at least a decade. I wish I knew how all the damage they've done can be undone.
Yes, I completely agree.
