Unfortunately the tragedy is ongoing. We just lost another one to suicide a few days ago. I believe this is the first post-pardon suicide, which I feared would be happening because life out of prison presents a whole new set of challenges.
In prison, oddly, you can always look forward to the time of your release. Once outside prison, however, even minor setbacks can feel like a permanent fall that you'll never come back from.
I keep asking myself why they didn't just stop at 100 or 500. Why so many and why for so long?
It's clear it wasn't about "setting an example" as much as it was about spreading the pain. And in that regard, they were terribly successful.
They are sociopaths. All of the insults they hurl around the planet at Trump, or Putin, or Vance or Clarence Thomas or JK Rowling or anyone they compare to Hitler, are projection.
Wow! Your article is a whole lot to digest, but the J6 protest has been completely vindicated! The demoncraps had, by hook and by crook, stolen a Presidential election and intended to install an artificial figurehead to lead our country. You J6ers had every right to protest the fraudulent government takeover they pulled on our population. All of those perpetrators were evil 😈 lowlifes who should be incarcerated. You were right about the whole charade. Of course, some unfortunate things happened as a result of WHAT THE DEMONCRAPS PERPETRATED! But it was a reaction to the most egregious crime ever committed against the American people! And the repercussions are still unfolding. Therefore, the events of J6, and the resulting arrests, trials,etc...are only in their infancy. I don't think the Republicans have anything to apologize for. Too often when Conservatives debate with Leftists, we often concede their premises. We like to say, "Even if such and such is correct..." For us, this is a power move demonstrating the lack of sound logic employed by the other side.
Yet it's not the flex we think it is. We often end up squabbling over ground we should never have ceded in the first place.
It's not about arguing which J6ers were the "good" ones or which were the "bad" ones. Or even how many of each there were at the Capitol.
It's about arguing the patently ridiculous idea that you can overthrow the US government by simply occupying one its buildings for less than 3 hours in a completely haphazard and disorganized way.
It's not about arguing whether its right to strike a cop in full protective armor because they were beating a woman death.
The real questions were: Why were we there? What was done to us in response? How did we react to that?
As far as that first question is concerned, if we feared the 2020 election was fraudulent and we were RIGHT ABOUT THAT FACT, all other concerns or criticisms aren't even secondary considerations.
It's like saying, "Yeah, a hostile cadre of bureaucrats stole your government out from beneath your feet, but YOU DIDN'T ACT POLITE WHEN THEY DID SO!"
Absolutely 💯 agreed 👍! I admire you very much for going there and acting decently in the first place. Let's face it, revolutions have started for a whole lot less! Can you imagine if the rolls had been reversed and conservatives had cheated? The BLM riots were contrived and manufactured over the overdose death of a criminal, and multiple cities have never recovered. The left freaks out over non-issues every day. For BLM, the Left ignored the drug overdose. For Jan 6, they injected drug overdose as the cause of Roseanne Boyland's death.
They play so fast and loose with the facts and everyday Americans suffer greatly.
